The pomodoro technique. A better way to study.

Hey guys! Today I'll talk about the pomodoro technique.

WHAT IS IT?

The Pomodoro Technique is a time management method developed by Francesco Cirillo in the late 1980s. The technique uses a timer to break down work into intervals, traditionally 25 minutes in length, separated by short breaks of 5 minutes. Every 4 pomodoros, you have a break of 15 minutes.

DOES IT WORK?

Well, this question is rather subjective. This method may work for some people, but not for everybody. Every person is different, so don't get frustrated if you feel like it's not working, just find another way of studying.

STEPS

WHY SHOULD I TRY IT?

Try the Pomodoro Technique if you...

  • Find little distractions often derail the whole workday
  • Consistently work past the point of optimal productivity
  • Have lots of open-ended work that could take unlimited amounts of time (e.g., studying for an exam, research for a blog post, etc.)
  • Are overly optimistic when it comes to how much you can get done in a day
  • Enjoy gamified goal-setting
